Viewing Student Progress

This guide explains how teachers can monitor student progress, track engagement, review grades, and download reports in SchoolsPLP.


Accessing Your Courses

  1. Log into SchoolsPLP.
  2. Click Your Teaching in the left navigation menu.
  3. You will see all courses assigned to you.

By default, you will land on the Progress Tracking tab, which provides a snapshot of student performance in each course.


Understanding the Progress Tracking Tab

The Progress Tracking tab displays a high-level overview of each course, including:

Students

The number of active students enrolled in the course.

On Track

Students who are progressing appropriately in their coursework.

Behind

Students who are more than 1% behind in their coursework.

Far Behind

Students who are more than 10% behind in their coursework.

Disengaged

  • Partially Disengaged (PD): Student has not worked in one or more assigned courses in 3 days (excluding weekends).
  • Fully Disengaged (FD): Student has not worked in any assigned courses in 3 days (excluding weekends).

To-Do’s

Assignments that have been submitted and are ready to be graded.


Sorting and Prioritizing

You can sort any column by clicking the column heading.

For example:

  • Click To-Do’s to move courses with items ready to grade to the top.
  • Click Far Behind to quickly identify courses with the most at-risk students.

Sorting helps you prioritize grading and intervention efforts.


Using the Current Activity Tab

Click the Current Activity tab for more detailed engagement data.

This tab includes:

Working Now

The number of students currently logged in and actively working.

Hours Worked

Total hours students have worked during the current week.

You can adjust the date range to view activity for a different day or week.

Activities Finished

The number of activities completed during the selected time period.

Mastered First Try

Lessons that students passed on their first attempt.

Latest Activity

A running log of the most recent lessons accessed by students.


Viewing Report Cards

Select the Report Cards tab to see detailed student grade information.

This section displays:

  • Assigned date (course start date)
  • End date
  • Enrollment state (Active, Suspended, Incomplete, Complete)
  • Current grade
  • Hours logged
  • Finished activities
  • Unfinished activities
  • Total activities
  • Credits (if applicable)

Downloading Reports

Click Download CSV to export grade data into a spreadsheet file for documentation or reporting purposes.


Viewing an Individual Student

To view detailed information for a specific student:

  1. Click the student’s name from the Report Cards page.
  2. The Student Overview Page will open.

Student Overview Page

The Student Overview page includes:

Overview Tab

Displays all courses the student is enrolled in and their progress in each course.

Latest Activity

Shows the most recent lessons and activities accessed.

To-Do’s

Displays assignments that are ready for grading.


Daily Activity Tab

Click the Daily Activity tab to view a breakdown of a student’s engagement.

This section includes:

Minutes Worked

Time spent actively working within lessons.

Activities Finished

Number of activities completed during the selected time frame.

Login Sessions

Dates and times the student logged in and out.

Note: If a student remains on their dashboard without clicking “Work on this Course,” login time may appear, but minutes worked will not increase.

Viewing a Different Time Period

Use the date selector to view activity for a different month.

Downloading Activity Data

Click Download CSV to export activity data into a spreadsheet.


Sending a Message to a Student

From the Student Overview page, click Send Message to communicate directly with the student.


Best Practices for Monitoring Student Progress

  • Review To-Do’s daily to stay current on grading.
  • Sort by Far Behind weekly to identify students needing intervention.
  • Monitor Disengaged students to prevent prolonged inactivity.
  • Use the Daily Activity tab during parent conferences.
  • Download reports regularly for documentation and administrative needs.
