Catalog Choice Overview

Lincoln Learning (LL)

The instructional design of LL breaks down information into bite-sized chunks and accommodates various learning styles. From this partner publisher, we have four separate catalogs:

L-Contemporary: This catalog is a streamlined set of courses for students in PreK through grade 5 that can be used in virtual, in-person, or hybrid learning environments. To read more about this catalog, click here.

L-Synchronous: This catalog for grades PreK through 12 has been created with the intention of being used in synchronous (together at the same pace) learning environments, although it can be used in asynchronous (self-paced) environments. To read more about this catalog, click here.

L-Asynchronous*: This auto-graded catalog for grades PreK through 12 has been created with the intention of being used in asynchronous learning environments, although it can be used in synchronous environments. To read more about this catalog, click here.

L-Credit Recovery (CR): In this catalog, courses have unit pre-tests and unit post-tests. Depending on the student’s score on the pre-test, lessons may be automatically excused for the student. By design, the post-tests and the final exam are the only lessons that count towards a student’s grade.

Bright Thinker (BT)

The Bright Thinker curriculum follows a consistent instructional design and courses contain the following: lessons, questions, quizzes, discussions, projects, unit tests, final exams, etc. From this partner publisher, we have multiple catalogs:

B-Asynchronous*: This catalog has lessons and activities that will challenge students in grades K-12 and keep them engaged as they work at their own pace.

B-Mastery Based: This catalog contains courses for grades 3-8. Courses in this catalog have units with pre-tests. Depending on the student’s score on the pre-tests, lessons will be automatically excused for the student. Quizzes have intentionally been hidden in courses in this catalog so students are not tested on content that has been excused.

B-Credit Recovery (CR): This catalog contains courses for grades 9-12. Courses in this catalog have units with pre-tests. Depending on the student’s score on the pre-tests, lessons will be automatically excused for the student. Quizzes have intentionally been hidden in courses in this catalog so students are not tested on content that has been excused.

B-Intervention: Courses in this catalog have unit pre-tests that will excuse subsequent lessons, like in Credit Recovery courses. Courses in this catalog also have unit post-tests that will automatically assign retries for prior lessons. To read more about intervention courses, click here.

B-Auto-Graded* (AG): Courses in this catalog are the same as courses in the B-Asynchronous catalog with the exception is that these courses are all auto-graded, meaning all teacher-graded items have been removed and any gradable items are scored by the system.

B-Auto-Graded Mastery Based*: This catalog contains courses for grades 3-8. Courses in this catalog are the same as courses in the B-Mastery Based catalog with the exception is that these courses are all auto-graded, meaning all teacher-graded items have been removed and any gradable items are scored by the system.

B-Auto-Graded Credit Recovery*: This catalog contains courses for grades 9-12.  Courses in this catalog are the same as courses in the B-Credit Recovery catalog with the exception is that these courses are all auto-graded, meaning all teacher-graded items have been removed and any gradable items are scored by the system.

SchoolsPLP Template Catalog

This catalog was created by SchoolsPLP and has several functions. With this catalog, users can do the following: design their own course using the blank template shell, add the Unlock Final item to a course to block access to assessments until they are excused, and add the Participation/Offline Work item to a course as a grade placeholder.

*Note: Teachers may need to supplement with offline assignments or unhide some hidden assignments in the auto-graded and asynchronous courses to meet course objectives. For example, teachers may choose to unhide written essay assignments in English auto-graded courses to meet specific course objectives.
