Understanding the Teacher Dashboard

Getting Started: Progress Tracking Tab

Click on the "Your Teaching" link in the upper left to access your teacher dashboard. The course list displays only the courses for which you are assigned/enrolled as a teacher. Progress tracking enables you to monitor the pace and engagement levels of your current students.

Academic Health Categories

These categories help to identify students who may need additional support.

Pace

  • On Track (Green): Students who have completed their course items on or before the pace/due dates.
  • Behind (Orange): Students who are 1% to 9% behind schedule.
  • Far Behind (Red): Students who are 10% or more behind schedule.

Columns can be sorted by clicking on the column header. To view a list of students in the category, click on the number in the column.

Disengagement

  • Partially Disengaged (PD): Students who have not worked in at least one course for 3 consecutive days.
  • Fully Disengaged (FD): Students who have not worked in any of their courses for 3 consecutive days.

Action Step:

Click on the number in the column for a list of students who fall into a category. If you want to send a message to all students in this category, click the send message link at the top right. (To see an individual student's data or message an individual student, click on the student's name to navigate to their dashboard page.)

This tab provides a snapshot of student activity within the current week. You can alternate the data you are viewing by using the Group by dropdown to view: All Courses or All Students or clicking This Week, or Today.

Latest Activity Feed

This section is crucial for maintaining awareness of your students' progress.

It enables you to:

  • Celebrate achievements by recognizing students who have completed assignments or performed well.
  • Address challenges by reaching out to students who may have underperformed or missed deadlines.

Click on a student’s name in the feed to navigate directly to that student's dashboard, where you can view detailed progress or send the student a message.

Daily Activity Tracking

To monitor an individual student's activity in detail, click on Daily Activity tab.

Daily Activity Log

Click on a specific date to view: time spent in each course, time spent on each item, item completion details, and log in sessions for that day.

The student dashboard is particularly beneficial for gaining insight into a student's work habits and identifying any possible challenges related to time management or engagement.
