Navigating the Teacher Dashboard

This guide explains how to navigate the Teacher Dashboard in SchoolsPLP. The dashboard allows teachers to monitor student progress, view engagement indicators, manage grading tasks, and communicate with students and staff.


Signing Into SchoolsPLP

  1. Go to the SchoolsPLP login page.
  2. Enter your login credentials.
  3. After signing in, you will be directed to the Progress Tracking tab on the Teacher Dashboard.

Progress Tracking Tab

The Progress Tracking tab provides a quick overview of the courses assigned to you.

By default, this page displays courses, but it can also be grouped by students.

Changing the View

To group the page by students instead of courses:

  1. Locate the dropdown menu above the Progress Tracking tab.
  2. Select Students instead of Courses.

This allows you to view progress from a student-centered perspective.


Course Information

Each course displayed on the dashboard includes important details.

Course Pill

To the left of each course, you will see a course pill.

This indicates the catalog the course originates from.


Student Engagement Indicators

To the right of each course are engagement indicators that help teachers monitor student progress.

These indicators show whether students are:

  • On Track – Students are progressing as expected
  • Behind – Students are slightly behind schedule
  • Far Behind – Students require immediate attention
  • Disengaged – Students have not been active recently

These indicators help teachers quickly identify students who may need support.


To-Do Column (Assignments to Grade)

The To-Do column lists assignments that require grading.

This section helps teachers easily identify:

  • Pending grading tasks
  • The number of assignments awaiting review for each course

Messaging and Communication

Teachers can communicate with students, staff, and administrators directly within SchoolsPLP.

There are three ways to send messages:

1. Chat Button

Located in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

Located above the engagement indicator columns.

3. Messages Section

Located in the navigation panel on the left side of the screen.

All three options allow you to send and receive messages within the platform.


Navigation Links on the Dashboard

The top navigation bar includes several useful tools.

News

Displays announcements such as:

  • Upcoming events
  • Virtual trainings
  • Professional development opportunities
  • School announcements

Explore

Allows teachers and administrators to browse courses available in the SchoolsPLP catalogs.


Profile

In your Profile, you can:

  • Upload a profile picture
  • Adjust notification settings
  • Manage message notifications

Adding a profile picture helps create a more personal learning experience for students.


Quick Navigation Links

Additional navigation links include:

Your Schools

Returns you to the Progress Tracking dashboard.

Your Teaching

Displays the courses you are assigned to teach.

Grading To-Do

Takes you directly to the Gradebook, where you can view and grade student assignments in one place.


Recently Viewed Section

Under the News area, you will find a Recently Viewed section.

This allows you to quickly return to pages or items you have recently accessed within the platform.


Current Activity Tab

The Current Activity tab allows teachers to monitor student engagement and course activity.

Teachers can view activity based on:

  • Today
  • This Week

This section also includes a Latest Activity panel that displays student actions in real time.

This allows teachers to track student movements within the platform and monitor engagement.


Report Cards Tab

The Report Cards tab allows teachers to:

  • View student report cards
  • Print report cards
  • Download report cards as CSV files

These reports can be used for documentation or communication with families and administrators.


Reports Tab

The Reports tab allows teachers to generate reports for their courses.

Reports can be exported as:

  • CSV files
  • Excel spreadsheets

These reports help teachers analyze student progress and performance.


Need Help

If you need assistance navigating the Teacher Dashboard:

  1. Click the Need Help button located on the right side of the screen.

    From there you can:

    • Contact the SchoolsPLP team
    • Access the Knowledge Base
    • Search for answers to common questions
