SchoolsPLP Dashboard Overview
The user will see a thin blue banner on the left hand side upon logging in to the program. Instructors may search for students by name in the search field. Clicking Your Schools will allow the user to view any schools they have permissions to view. Click Your Messages to read/monitor student communication directed to the instructor. Users may also change their password by clicking Your Profile. Recent history can be viewed below Your Profile.
To the far right of your screen are three tabs. The Resources tab provides information on printable materials, virtual teacher instructional services, AP Course lists, and required texts. Click the orange Need Help? Tab to review articles, to send a message, or chat live with SchoolsPLP experts.
Administrators and registrars can enter school or district setup by clicking the link on the right hand-side. You can also message students or other staff members with the Send Message link.
Users will always begin on the Progress Tracking tab, which displays data on student progress and engagement from “a bird’s eye view.” The same tab is available at the course level.
Student engagement and pacing are displayed under Progress Tracking. The On Track column displays the number of students who are 100% current with respect to the course’s pacing dates. The Behind column displays the number of students who are 1-9% behind schedule. The Far Behind column represents the number of students who are at least 10% behind schedule.
The disengagement columns display the number of students who are PD (Partially Disengaged) meaning students have not accessed at least one section for three weekdays. The FD (Fully Disengaged) column displays the number of students who have not accessed any section for at least three weekdays.
The Current Activity tab exists at the school and course level and is designed to show student performance data on a weekly or daily basis. Users can determine how much time students have spent working, the number of activities the student has completed, as well as display grading notifications under the “To-Do” column.
The Latest Activity feed on the right hand side of the browser window, which populates in real time, allows staff to monitor progress and offer interventions as needed.
The Report Cards tab displays how much time in total a student has spent in any given section, as well as the number of instructional days, unfinished activities, course start/end dates, and how much credit a student has accrued.
The Reports tab allows Administrators the ability to download the gradebook, assess how many items a student has attempted, view student login/logout times, IP addresses, or date range specific grades and progress and more.
At the course level, an instructor can view the students attendance for the week by clicking on the Attendance Tab. This will show the total minutes the student has worked in the class for the day. This data can be downloaded as a CSV File, if needed.
For progress tracking at a course level, an instructor may view the number of activities that the student has finished (an activity is any object which requires a student response) and whether the student met the completion requirement, whether that be submission, passing score, any score, etc. The “Mastered First Try” column will display the percentage of activities mastered on the first attempt. Activities will not count as mastered unless they meet the minimum passing score.
For example, if an activity’s completion setting is set to Submission, the activity is Finished when it is submitted. However, if the passing score for the activity is set to 70% and the student earned a 60% the lesson would not count as being Mastered First Try.
Instructors have the abilty to see two different views within the Progress Tracking Tab. Click the link beside the Progress link and switch between the Progress view or Report Card view. Here is how the Progress view of students looks:
