Personalizing Schedules in Courses

Personalizing Course Schedules with the Learning Plan Tab

The Learning Plan tab allows you to make quick, easy changes to the scheduling of your course without using the course editor. To see how to adjust due dates, release dates, remove items from the Learning Plan, and more, see this article

Applying Changes Only to Specific Groups or Students

One of the most exciting abilities of the Learning Plan tab is that your release dates or other changes may be applied only to specific groups or even individual students within the course. Before adding your new release date, use the students & groups dropdown box at the top of the page to set the group or individual for which you want to apply settings. This lets you easily affect the entire course, or only affect designated students.

Groups will only appear in the groups section of the dropdown box if they have been previously set up in the editor. Use the Edit Course Content button to quickly go to the editor and manage groupings. Once your groups are set, they will appear in the Groups section of the dropdown and you may apply your changes to the selected groups.

You can also select individual students for your scheduling changes without setting up a group. All students currently enrolled in the course will show up in the students' section and can be selected there one at a time. The dropdown box will display the student you currently have selected.

Once you have selected the individual student to work on, you may make your changes to the course schedule, save, and then repeat as necessary with other students.

NOTE:

In range courses, due dates can be applied for gradable assignments for all active students or for individual students and groups.

In continuous courses, pace dates are auto-assigned. While due dates can not be set for gradable assignments in continuous courses due dates can be set for individual students and groups.
